Obviously I wasn't there so I don't know which one looks the most natural. But just as a viewer of the photos, the Idol with HDR looks most natural to me. The 950 with HDR looks over saturated to me. But just guessing, I would think that the 950 without HDR is more what the scene looked like in person?

Yes, the Idol HDR photo is the most true to life. If you can hand the full 3 seconds it takes to capture it...it's the most true life.

great thread, its very evident that idol 4s drains the color out of pictures. The same i have observed on Samsung cameras as well, Nokia camera technology do produce some very lively pictures.Prasie Carl Zeiss.

Alt camera apps, please. Can we see samples from Camera360 Sight, ProShot and others? Especially on 3rd party devices, I've found that some of these 3rd party apps can make a dramatic difference. Microsoft Camera algorithms (and formally Lumia Cam) seem to be aggressively tuned for camera module hardware that 3rd party phones aren't using...
