Keep indication bar at the top?

I'm running Win 8 phone on Nokia Lumia 1520

I have a question...

Is there a way to keep the bar at the top, that shows my connectivity, time and battery status?
It just rolls up automatically and I don't like having to swipe down every time I need to see it.
Also is there any way to get it to display the date at this bar as well? and maybe show a battery percentage in numerical format, rather than a battery graphical icon?
