HTC 8X System storage

Hello,
I got a Windows Phone 8.0 GD3 running on HTC 8X.
For whatever reason I had some downloads from the store fail on me, now it seems those failed downloads are still on the system and ended up in the "System" tray, so my System part is over 5GB.
Is there anyway to get this space back without hard reset?
If hard reset is the only option, how can I backup everything and how do I restore it?

Hey,
You have two options: finish those failed downloads and delete them afterwards or hard reset.
The backup settings is located in the settings section of your phone but your tile arrangements won't be saved and some game saves too like Angry Birds.
