Nokia 1520 802.11b/g Default Band

Today I get an email from the network admin saying that my Nokia is the only device on the network using 802.11b which is going to be turned off at the end of the month. So is there a way to force the phone to use 802.11g? I certainly can't find any settings to do this under wifi on the windows 8.1 preview operating system. Any help is much appreciated.

Idk if this is true but I would assume that once they turn it off your phone would automatically connect to g. Im just guessing though.
But as far as I know, there is no way to force it to use g
