Does anyone have the new cricket wireless since it's been bought by AT&T. If so I have a few questions.

1. Is the service quality similar/same to AT&T's (thus better than t-mobile). Also is the service quality good in the Northeast (Boston Area)

2. Can you bring an AT&T unlocked phone and have no issues?

3. Are you happy with the service/customer service?

Thanks!

I can give an opinion on #3, I tried to switch but the customer service was so bad I backed out. You should use the chat customer service to ask questions and see what you think about them.

I have been on the new cricket since it was AIO. I left T-Mobile for them. So to answer your questions from my experience:

1. They use ATTs network now, the coverage is the same as ATT and very much better than T-Mobile. With the caveat that Cricket does cap LTE speeds to 8mbps. The service quality should match ATT in any area.

2. You can bring ATT phones, just pop in a cricket GSM SIM. You don't even have to unlock most ATT phones.

3. I have been very happy with the service and their phone support. I have never visited a store so I have no idea what their in person support is like.

Would you have to unlock a 1520? This was my original plan. Wow did not know about the speed cap. Hmm makes me torn. I get 40mbp on tmobile's LTE, but the issue is I have it almost nowhere haha.

I hear you. I have found that for me having 8mpbs nearly everywhere trumps having 40mbps almost nowhere. It is also nice having enough coverage to go on road trips and stream Pandora the whole way. :)

An ATT locked 1520 should work fine. I have seen reports of people having some issues with MMS that required tweaking some settings, but not everyone seems to have the problem. I am using an ATT locked 1020 on Cricket with absolutely no issues myself.

Anyone with a 1520 on Cricket want to weigh in??

Awesome thanks a ton. I still need to weigh some pros and cons and see how the rest of the people on my plan feel about having to get new phones, but its good to know that it would work.

Can't lose now, especially with the additional data offered for new and existing customers.
