Unable to backup my apps and games

Hey guys, I am unable to backup my apps and games. On clicking backup now, it shows the progress till 97% or 99% then it shows as "there was an error in performing backup". This has been going for past week, I didn't try before that. I thought it was maybe just an error, and it will maybe backup fine later. But till now it has been the same. I do not want to hard reset my phone, and I have tried switching off and on multiple times. What do you guys suggest, I should do. And does anyone else have the same problem

Sometimes disabling backup of text messages fixes it.

Same thing is happening with me on my 720... I've been trying since last two weeks... No solution found
