Here Drive+, battery drain & excessive heat

So I was taking a trip and using the Here Drive app for directions. The unit was plugged in the entire time and had a full charge when I started. After a couple of hours I get the "battery is critically low" message. The phone was very hot and the charge indicator was on. Has anyone else experienced this with the GPS apps? The charger is a 2.1a so there is no reason a discharge should have occurred. A 1.0a I can maybe see but not a 2.1. This is with a 1020 on WP 8.1.

I have the exact same problem. Mine is even worse that the minute I start using data my phone turns into a hotplate.

Only fix for this is a hard reset. Nothing else will work aside from using the Nokia Software Utility.

Just to let you know exact same on the 1520, its a bug with gps i believe!
