Huge Data Usage

I am using a Lumia 1520 on AT&T with Windows 8.1 Developer build. My phone is using a lot of data and I have no idea where it is coming from. I turned almost every app off running in the background. I think it is Cortana that is causing it, but I haven't tested it. Any ideas why my phone is using a lot of data every time I turn my data on? Thanks.

Define "a lot".

Open Data Sense then swipe over to Usage. It will tell you exactly how much data each of your apps are using over both WiFi and data.

I think the culprit is Cortana because it seems like it would be the only app that is constantly running in the background and using data. The data sense doesn't show a anything that is using an extreme amount, more then usual.

Data sense tells you exactly what's being used by each app (Cortana too). There's no need to guess!
