Im confused about the lumia 930....?!?

So the Icon is the Verizon version of the 930,and the 930 is international. People are saying it doesn't have something, LTE I think? Wouldn't that be a problem? And what does LTE do, is it the cellular data? im asking if the lumia 930 is just like a normal phone pretty much.
