Samsung Focus S Not Charging

Hello. I have two Samsung Focus Ss and one of them won't charge. I thought the battery was the problem, so I ordered a new one. I left it in one device for hours and the highest the battery power got was 1%. I then tried it in the other device and it got to 100%. Any ideas as to why that would be the case?

I am guessing it could be the USB port where you charge the phone

Just to confirm, you tried the same charger on both phones, correct? Have you tried to wipe clean the battery connector on the phone? You could also try a hard reset, but it may not let you if the battery is that low.

Yeah, I've got 3 batteries and I think I've tried all combinations of phones and batteries. I'll give the hard reset a go.

Definitely could be the port. The only weird thing is that it recognizes that it's plugged in. And it says it's charging.

Typically the USB ports have an expected life span of about 500 uses. Give. How old the phone is I would bet its bad.

Have you checked the port for lint and other dirt accumulation? Back when I had a Focus S, so much dirt built up after a while that it just wouldn't charge anymore. Turn the phone off and use a sewing needle to gently pick it clean, try to avoid touching the metal contacts in the center of the port too much. Let me know how it goes!
