Nokia Software Recovery not finding my Lumia 1520

Hi all

I cannot get the recovery tool to find my L1520... I have upgraded to the newest version, but nothing happens... What gives?

I'm running WP8.1DP...

just dont plug the USB cable into any USB 3.0 ports of ur laptop or pc! it's the main problem while upgrading or downgrading from recovery tool!

My god... If that's true, MS (or Nokia) aren't all that clever... Will be trying USB 2.0 later

Sadly, it didn't help plugging it to an USB2.0 port :/ Any other suggestions?

Have you powered you computer down and then back on? Same thing with your phone. If that doesn't work, I'd uninstall it and install it again.

Well that's not true, it has definitely worked on my MSI GT60's USB 3.0 ports

Check device manger to see if the OS detects the phone as connected hardware, if yes then right click and install the device and hit refresh and let it install again. Also make sure you update the Nokia USB drivers before reattempting again

Okay, so now I got the tool to recognize the phone when I plug it in. But, it says that it cannot read the data on it! I reinstalled the tool as suggested by itself, but that didn't help :/

It worked with my 8.1 DP. in your case maybe factory resetting your phone (back up first) may help
