Lumia 928 Unlocked with at&t sim Software update

[WPCentral Question]

I saw the news from various websites that at&t will be rolling out WP8.1 to its customers in coming week.

I am using an unlocked lumia 928(specific device for verizon) which is on WP8.1 developer preview and i am using at&t service in that mobile.

Will i be able to get the software update once at&t release the same?
If not how will i get the WP8.1 actual release.

When it's released for Verizon, as that's where the phone originated. The update system looks at the phone's ROM and product code. The SIM in use doesn't matter in the case of unlocked phones.

Not a problem. Basic rule of thumb: If it says "country variant" or "SIM free", then it's factory unlocked and will get updates when they are released. Any carrier specific phones that have been unlocked are tied to the release schedule of the carrier the phone was originally locked to.
