I have a 1520 I bought on eBay. I checked the warranty thanks to the Lumia help and tips app and it's still covered. My question is will I be able to take my phone into a Microsoft store to get looked at because I'm having issues why my power button or do I need to contact Nokia to send it in to them? I should also mention that I'm in the US.

Thing with warranties is, that unless stated they are non-transferrable - ie I buy a phone brand new, and sell it to you, it's me that has to initiate the warranty stuff because I was the person who initially bought the phone and therefore its warranty. With warranty claims you generally need to take proof of original purchase with you - your receipt from Ebay wouldn't count unfortunately as you acquired the phone second hand.

The helps and tips app doesn't know who's using the phone - just whether it's in or out of warranty. You can try and take it to MS or Nokia, but don't be surprised if they turn you away for the above reasons.

But the question is still open. Do I take it to Microsoft or Nokia? There's a Microsoft store not too far from me but there's no Nokia store near me.
