Windows phone 8 lumia 928 games not in app list?

When a friend of mine downloads a game it does not show up in his app list instead it goes to his Xbox games hub. Is this normal on 8? I am on 8.1 on my 925 and I don't have that issue
If someone can shine some light on how games are handled on 8 as opposed to 8.1 that would be great thank you

The behavior changed with 8.1. Now with 8.1, games show up in the app list instead of the game hub. This was addressed in the beginning of the preview and some of us hope an option will come where the user can have a choice between app list or hub.

Heck, I think there is a large contingent that considers the 8.1 behavior the "issue".
