Does the Dell Venue 8 pro come with 8.1?

Just confused since on the staples website it just says windows 8. I hope it does,since I hear it actually only comes with around 16GB in the 32GB version.(if anyone has it,how much did you have?) Of course,any help is appreciated Have a good one!

I think it's 8.0, but it can be upgraded to 8.1.

Is this staples in uk or usa? Best thing is to check on ebay believe it or not as the seller will tell you all the info 99.9% of the time. Hope my idea/guess will help

USA Staples here,I'll check out eBay in a few. Does 8.1 take alot of space? I may not be getting an SD card for this thing soon,so space is of the essence!

It actually reduces the OS footprint, size decreases by atleast a couple of GBs from 8.0

Well.. yes it's 32GB of storage (unformatted). Formatted it would go down to maybe 28GB (due to sector information being written so you can actually use it), and 10-12GB for Windows itself. Leaving you with around 16GB or so that you can actually use.

And even if it comes with 8.0 which I doubt it nowadays, you can upgrade for free as a windows update to 8.1. The OS size will not increase.

My Dell Venue 8 Pro came stock with 8.1 (pre-8.1 Update), I believe the Acer Iconia W3 was the only originally Windows 8.0 8" tablet.

I would say a good bet is 10-14 GB free, if I'm wrong, its because my estimate is too low if anything.

There's a thread on WIMBoot-ing the 8 Pro which can save quite some space - best if you keep all the original partitions intact.
