Updating after Changing Cell phone provider

This may have been asked but i cannot find it in the forums. I have changed my cellphone provider recently, my phone is an unlocked Lumia 920 from rogers wireless, will i be able to get any future software updates? my understanding is the are pushed by the cell company and not from the os. My home pc runs windows 7 as well so i cannot use the developer tools.

It should get any updates Rogers sees fit to send.

Even though it's unlocked, it's still branded to Rogers. So you'll get the update when Rogers releases it.

your phone, if Rogers branded, will get whatever Rogers sends out, REGARDLESS of current SIM/service provider.

My ATT 920, if it has the ATT ROM, would get updates from ATT, no more, no less, even if I took the phone to say, T-Mobile.

Reflashing however, can change the source.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm on Verizon now but I still have my 900 via ATT and was wondering if it would get the update even though I'm not with att.

Do you mean the 900 or 920?

The 900 (or any other Windows Phone 7.x device) will not get any further upgrades.

If you have the 920, it will be upgraded whenever AT&T releases the upgrade.

the 900, I repaired it with a new digitizer and back cover and wanted to keep it just in case.
