I have a Lumia 920, still on black, haven't got an update yet. A few days ago I started having a problem with the screen going black when making a phone call. If I have to press 1 for this and 2 for that, I can't 'cause I have no screen. I can't even hang up. I try hitting the power button turning the phone off and on, the screen will flash on for a second but that's it.
Anyone else have this problem, or know what to do? Thanks for any help.

Sounds like the area around your proximity sensor could be dirty. A feature the phone has, is it if senses something close to the phone during a call, it will disable the screen so you don't accidentally press any buttons during your call. So long story short, sounds like the area around the sensor is dirty. Its around the front facing camera.

Not sure, but I thought I read in the forums somewhere that if you're using a screen protector it might be messing up the sensor and that's why you're having this issue.

I'm not using a screen protector or case, and yeah I thought about a proximity sensor or something, it's like when you hold the phone up to your ear to talk the screens not on, but it just doesn't come back. I've cleaned the screen, front camera area, still nothing.

I've never noticed an issue with dust in the front facing cam, cleaned the screen real good, finally held the top edge up to a light vacuum for a minute, that seemed to do the trick, it's working again now.
