A little more elaboration will help you know? What OS are you running on, is it WP8.1 or WP8.0? How did you put your file on the phone? Through SD Card? Through download? And how do you define "unable to open attachment word, excel file", do you mean you get an error code/message? Or you can't do anything at all?
