What is the best battery efficient multiplatform messenger?

hi, i'm new to wp.
question is simple: from your own perspective and experience- what is the best messaging app/client for WP that that doesn't drain battery too much and can be used to interact with people on iOS?

Which windows phone are you running?

Facebook messenger works great but it has a white background which uses a lot of battery on AMOLEDs.

i'm on lumia 925 Nokia cyan. i heard that FB Messenger consumes nearly 10% battery per hour

Whatsapp. A lot of people use whatsapp and BBM drains the battery a lot since it's always running but it's still a good app.
