how to determine if the message was sent or not?

hello everyone, how can I determine if my message was sent or not in lumia messaging app? im really having trouble on sending long messages to my acquaintances because I have to wait for at least 7mins in order to see if the message was sent or not, and if the message was not sent, I have to try again. help me people please!!!

Within message settings there should be an option for 'delivery confirmation'. That sounds like what you need, however some carriers may charge for doing this.
