WPCentral Question

My 1520 was updated to 8.1 and Storage Sense looked very useful. I could tarnsfer apps to SD card including Here Drive+ and Here Maps. However it could not manage to download the new maps to SD card even I set store all 4 categories to SD card. I deleted all maps and started new download from Storage Sense>SD card>maps>. But maps still went to Phone instead of SD card. Wondering if any phone settings affect this outcome.

Open Lumia Storage Check, swipe across to Details, click on Change under Maps, choose SD Card. It's very simple.

That has never been part of the regular Lumia Storage Check, but only in the Lumia Storage Check Beta, which Microsoft has decided to discontinue in favor of Storage Sense. I'm not sure if the Nokia tool is still in Cyan, but it's definitely likely to be removed in a later firmware update. Tbh, if you have everything set to SD card, you should still have plenty of internal memory available, so having maps stored that shouldn't bother you much.

I realise this, but Lumia Storage Check beta can still be found in the Store by using Google/Bing, for those who want to.

No beta version on store right now, my storage check shows system acquired 4.2GB, previously it was 2.1GB, n temporary files are 957MB ,can not delete, what to do😞????

The beta tool is great. It bewilders me as to why Nokia/Microsoft haven't included this in Storage Sense. Having Global Off-Line GPS is one of the great differentiators from iOS and Android..only to shoot its own foot by making you run out of space on the phone and not allowing SD card usage (unless you google and research). My new 635 only has 8 gigs, but I have used the Beta tool to download 5 or 6 countries onto my SD card..it will be my global off-line GPS when I travel/ I Just hope future firmwares don;t inadvertently delete the Beta tool from my Apps without my knowledge

I read somewhere the beta version will be included when cyan rolls out officially. Haven't yet received the update so can't comment on its implementation. And you downloaded six countries worth of maps!!

I have the Lumia 635 phone and have the same issue with not being able to move or download maps to my SD card. My friend also has the same phone. These phones both have Cyan according to the extras+info page in settings. Neither phone came with Lumia storage check beta. I have installed it on my phone and it appears to be working correctly now. I will take a look at my friends phone tomorrow to see if hers is having the same issue. Reason I say this is because I could have sworn I was installing maps to the SD card right after I got the phone a month ago. I also set her phone up to download maps to SD card.

On my phone I started having wifi network issues, and could not download any email. I reset the phone and set it back up again. After setting my phone up again, it was not downloading maps to SD card. StorageSense would not change maps to SD card. I can't post the link that takes you to the page that will send and install the app to your phone. I used the link that was given in an earlier reply, and followed that to locate the send app page.

[SUP][/SUP] Is there an option to use instead of Lumia Storage check? Since this app is not available in Australia or for Lumia 635

Download sysapp from store and there you will get the link to download the storage check application, download it and save the maps to sd card.
