Sim card full

[WPCentral Question]

I have recently updated my 1020 to windows 8.1. Since the update, I am getting this message "Sim Card Full - your sim card is full. you can delete the messages from SIM card to make room for new messages". Ideally my phone used to save all messages in phone memory. After phone update it seems to store in SIM memory. How do I changes ? I have tried checking the messaging settings, no where does it show to change the memory settings. This is very frustrating to keep deleting messages in order to receive messages.
The messages that get stored in SIM shows a small text in bottom saying - "SIM Message". This seems to be happening for the numbers that are not in my contact list.
Any input is appreciated.

Also happened to me on my Lumia 920 on 8.0 and 8.1 ... It will disappear after some time but it is very strange...

Btw, occurred for a number which is in my contact list. Started occurring after got several text messages within a short time (one, two seconds...)

I Have a lumia 1020. Same issue after the 8.1 update. I can't see anything on messages saying it was stored to SIM card though like first poster
