damage from cheap charger.

My wife bought a car charger from five below and with in one day both of our phones went completely dead. what damage would this charger do to the phones that would kill them both.

With any luck, it will only have damaged the batteries. Or have you tried with good batteries?

I have not tried other batteries yet . The phones are a 920 an a 1020 so not as easy as other phones to sap the batteries.

Stupid answer here, but here I go... Are you sure the charger isn't dead itself? I take it you tried other chargers to use on the phones. If that's the case then it will be the battery could be damaged or very very rare the circuit board got damaged from too much output if it was higher then the original charger. Take my answer with a grain of salt as its only a wild suggestion. But hopefully it was the actual charger that is damaged. Do try the original chargers again tho

Well I have heard of stupid chargers that either undervolt it or overamp it. Hopefully you can test it out with another car charger. If you paid it cheap then that's what you get .
