Screen wake when receiving new notifications

Hello,
I apologize for the newbie question but I am thinking of switching to Windows Phone (specifically the HTC M8) and was wondering if the screen wakes up when receiving notifications (email, txt, etc) Also, does the led notification work?

The screen does wake up when you receive notifications however Windows Phone does not support LED lights so that doesn't work.

The M8 for Windows Phone doesn't support all the gestures the Android version supports either.

It's still a good device though.

Does M8 don't have glance.

M8 doesn't have glance instead it uses that special dotted matrix case to display weather and info.
