Does changing country and region to get Cortana effects phones' performance?

I have changed Country,region,language to united states to get Cortana. I'm using it in Sri Lanka. Do I have any disadvantages or will I meet any problem in future for providing these fake details?
I'm using Lumia 625.

Nope, you're not going to face any real issues at all. The only thing you'll come across is that you have no active payment method for that new region. If you're a paypal customer, you can use the very same paypal account in the new region you've used in your "home region".

No you can full use the functions of Cortana and it wont harm your phone's performance..but changing region to US will cause store to show apps that are available in US not in Sri Lanka (which is great ) and it will show US currency rather than your regional currency !
