Display is Off while Calls

Hello,

I am using Nokia Lumia 525. Phone is working fine, but when dial the number, display light is off through out the call even i keep away during call still Display is not coming. while end of the call, unable to cut the call due to off display. need to press lock key n display is coming for 1 sec n need to cut the call.. kindly suggest.

Are you on DP or Cyan? If you're still on WP8.0 then you probably have a defective proximity sensor, since that's the one responsible for turning off the screen when your face is near the phone during calls. If you did update to WP8.1 (whether DP or Cyan), but never had this problem while on WP8.0, you might simply have a bug. Try soft resetting and if unsuccessful, a hard reset. Hopefully that fixes your problem.

It may be even more simple. Clean the front of your phone, especially around the proximity sensor (usually near the earpiece and ffc) Make sure you don't have a screen protector covering it as well!

If you pocket your phone than dust and lint is a real problem to get into the phone. 920 and I think 900 too has a problem with dust getting on the front facing camera and prox sensor.

I used to own a 900. Never had a problem with dust covering the camera or the proximity sensor.

Had a user a couple weeks ago fix his proximity sensor by blowing some compressed air into the earpiece. (model was a 920 I believe)
