Nokia windows phone, won't turn on

I have a nokia windows phone and the battery is fully charged, but the phone shows that the battery is dead. The phone will not boot up even while plugged up into the wall. All it shows is the nokia symbol and a black screen. I've tried to reset, but this doesn't seem to work. Phone is only three weeks old.

You did soft reset or hard reset?
Which Lumia you have?

-Unplug from the wall and
-Do hard reset (if you haven't). power+vol up.
