Folder on SD card no longer visible on PC

Lumia 520 with Windows 8, PC with Vista

First off, I want to point out that I don't have a dedicated SD card reader - I can only access my folders by connecting my phone to my PC using USB.
Over the past few months, I have been copying images from my PC to a folder on my windows phone. The folder (and its subfolders) are still there on my phone, and I can browse them as normal. But as of today, my PC will not display the folder or its contents.

Hello Weird problem... Did you try a card reader? Also check the "show invisible files" option (long shot).
Another possible solution would be to upload the images to install the onedrive app on your pc, upload the images via the phone and voila..
The images will be available on your pc
