It seems difficult for me to see our to accept a phone having Microsoft branding logo on it instead of Nokia's.

Definitely awkward.

Microsoft should go for some branding logo looks better.

The MS branding on phones could be awkward yes... but MS had no choice since the brand license for Nokia just expired, maybe Nokia was asking too much money to renew the brand license how knows, but by looking the latest numbers of WP and the low market share, i think the Nokia brand didn't make too much difference anyway.

They should just call it Lumia, just drop the Nokia, unless Nokia won't let them do that based on it will still probably be associated with Nokia in consumers minds.

Well nothing much can be done.
Microsoft bought Nokia's mobile division but not the company, hence they do not own Nokia and don't have the right to brand their phones with it. If they had bought the whole company then it would be a different story.
Still stinks to see it go. Seeing Nokia on my phone meant long lasting durability, and being able to knock buildings down by throwing my phone at it and deflect bullets. :3

It just fits with the rest of the industry- Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy.......Microsoft Lumia. Sounds better then
Microsoft Nokia Lumia.

Old favorite business names come and go. It's sad, but it's also a part of life. I miss seeing Pan Am, America West, Northwest, and Continental when I'm at the airport. I will also miss Nokia. My all time favorite feature phone was a Nokia, the 8210. I still miss that phone!

You do know Nokia will be able to start selling phones, separate from Microsoft in 2016, right ? Microsoft won't be able to use the name Nokia on any Smartphones from here on out. I think the 130 will still be branded Nokia because it is a "dumb phone". Microsoft can't use the name Nokia because it doesn't belong to them. It's more of a legal contract thing than a choice. They did sign the contract and were aware that Nokia wouldn't come with the package however. That being said, the name of the company building the phone is Microsoft, hence Microsoft will be on the phones they build. It really is as simple as that.

With the Nokia company still out there, why would Microsoft want to have that name on their phones? They do now own the name Lumia outright, so I expect the new phones will have "Lumia' prominently on the phone in place of "Nokia".
