[L720] Notable lag after update?

I recently updated my Lumia 720 with the latest update of preview for developers. And since updating, I have noticed that a little lag while accessing live tiles and the increased launch time for apps. Any thoughts on what could be the cause and the corrective action?

Suffering from this affliction with my L925 on 8.1 and the latest GDR1 also.

Went thru a phone reset 2 days ago the lag is gone, yet the battery use time is still dismal in my opinion.

But even then, a soft reset can't hurt.
Power + Volume down for 10-15 seconds or until phone does a quick vibrate.

a hard reset can alleviate many issues as well, but thats up to you if its worth it.

Tried soft reset. It feels good just for sometime and then the problem crops up again. Many folks are reporting the same problem. Might be a software update problem.

No problem on my 920. But I experience this on my 520 which sports same specifications with 720. What I did is I switched off the background agent of apps I do not need to run on the background. Most of the time I use battery saver and just allow 2 or 3 apps to run on the background with battery saver on. This is I guess what I love about Windows phone. You can easily select which apps can run on the background.
