Looking for an efficient way to sort out contacts and calendar

When I setup my 930, suddenly, I ended up with over 7000 contacts in my phone.
I don't want 7000 in my phone..or anywhere for that matter. Somewhere in a similar thread they said to delete them via the people.live.com but the quantity is mental + when I try to delete some, it says : Some of these contacts come from another service and can't be deleted. Would you like to delete just the Outlook and Messenger contacts?

Is there another way to properly sort out the contacts?

Same problem with my calendar, suddenly I have LOADS of events about people I don't know!

The calendar you could go to settings and uncheck some of the ones you may not need, ie Facebook, birthdays and so on what ever you have tied to your live account.

The same goes for contacts, go to the people's hub, settings, choose filter contacts, you will see Facebook, linkin and so on.
