Changing volume of speakers - Lumia 520

Hi, I need to change the speaker volume while talking on my phone. For that I am pressing volume - down button during my conversation. It works, but it is reducing my ring tone volume also, which ends with missing of important calls. This issue is annoying me.. is there any remedy to avoid this? I feel, I brought a wrong phone.

I feel your phone is in WP8, with WP8.1 you can set the volume of ringtones and calling independently.

It's easy to upgrade WP8 to 8.1 just check the phone update in Settings and the rest is automatically.
