Why am I having problems charging my Lumia 635?

Problem when charging battery on Lumia 635

I normally switch my Lumia 635 off whenever I recharge the battery. However, whenever I do this it switches the mobile back on again. Even if I then switch it off again, it automatically starts up again.

Is this normal ? If so, is there any way of charging the battery with mobile switched off ? I don't want to be woken up in the middle of the night with the phone ringing whilst it is on charge.

It's normal for the phone to switch on when you connect the charger....if that's what you mean. It soon sleeps though.

To avoid being disturbed just mute the ringer (and app) volume?
