Battery saver and background tasks

With the new update 8.10.14176.23 my background tasks have gone for a toss... For apps like hike messenger, AOE castle siege, what's app etc are no longer showing me an option to allow them to run in back ground.. Result is that I have to open hile to get notifications... I for other wise get them.. Any ideas tips???

This is odd behaviour. Maybe this will be fixed in a future update. I think 14176 is the latest Developer Preview build if I'm not mistaken, so hang around for the next update and see if it's fixed!
