how can i turn off internet explorer on nokia lumea 1020

ok using internet explorer i open a web page read it then close it but when i want to use the web again that page is still there even hours after i thought that i had closed it.

it starts off at the last open page I believe. if you want to close it, just go to tab view and close the page so you see a blank page.

it doesnt really use extra power or data though.

I use a link to a specific website and have it pinned to my home screen instead of the standard IE app. that way, it creates a new tab instead of opening the last page.

If you tap the TABS button and tap the little X to close the tab, Internet Explorer will open next time in a blank tab.
