Why am I having password conflicts between devices?

I've come across a problem I've never seen before. When I try to log into my internet provider account from my M8 it fails as if I've inputted the wrong password. I can login from my surface tablet fine using same password. I've never come across this issue before. Thought id ask the gurus here before waiting on hold with the provider and them being clueless anyway. I'm going thru a web bookmark using IE 11 and running 8.1 on both devices. They don't have an app for this.

that's weird... do you have two step authentication enabled?
