Is it possible for MSFT to release hardware customisable phones?

I think at this moment in time with people wanting lightweight thin phones this is not a possibility. To do custom phones, being able to pick an choose options is something that could only be done if and only if they standardize. Standardizing relies on vendors supplying components that maintain a certain size. At this moment I don't think the mobile market is like this.
