Why can people hear their own voice while taking on VoIP?

Okay, I'm trying parse that question, basically, if you hear your own voice when using VoIP it is normally a network issue. One side or the other is having packet re-requests causing the other side to get packers back that they sent out, which the VoIP softphone things are incoming packets.

essentially, echoes, stutter, or any other odd sound is normally caused by poor network performance and has little to do with your actual softphone.

i have no issues if i call with android phone. (same calling software)

maybe its the design of the phone on the other end, or design differences between your WP and Android phones.
Im not immediately inclined to think OS is a reason, but I suppose its possible.

Bad implementation of mic isolation vs speaker output could also cause you to hear your self, if you do the same call with a headset, do you hear yourself?
