Why am I getting error messages when trying to download apps?

I've had my Microsoft account for a long time. Today I tried to download apps on my Lumia 1520 and I got an error saying "You need to update the date of birth in your Microsoft account before you can buy this game." I've never had this issue before, but just to see if it would help, I went in and made sure my birthday was correct. It made no difference and I can't download any apps. Any ideas what's up?

Lol I hope you're not 13? Some apps and games do have age restrictions, if I remember correctly? oh wait that was for access to Cortana.. lol, but the same could apply to the store

Nope. I'm 31. It's doing this out of nowhere for all apps.

WOA! This just started happening to me and I own a Lumia 1520 as well. I was just checking my account online, my birthdate is correct, I have 2 step authentication and email and text notifications so NOTHING has changed on my account and I cannot update apps. I have the latest Developer Preview "critical update" and Lumia Cyan on my AT&T Lumia 1520.

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I'm getting this on my end as well.
Almost had me do a factory reset, until i searched and found this post.

You can push apps from the web store but its the same thing.
I hope they fix this soon.

Maybe its part of this recent "Critical Update".

I am going through the same .. Its ****ty .. I got a new update of bbm beta in which they stated that delete the old bbm beta and then install this new update .. I deleted the beta .. And I cant install the new one cause of the bday error ..
