i'm thinking of buying an xbox one in the US and bring it back to my home country (philippines). i will be passing through SEA-TAC (Seattle) International Airport and NAIA (Philippines). Is this allowed in each airport and are there taxes that need to be paid? Are there certain procedures to be done or something?

Note: the xbox one is still in it's original box and haven't been opened

I have heard urban legends of crooked security employees stealing nice stuff. Maybe mail it to your home instead? Sure, the stories are probably untrue, but who wants to risk it?

I would look up import regulations. It may also not be allowed to go to the Philippines due to export control depending on the cryptography installed on the US version of the box, vs trade regulations with the Philippines.

I don't think there is a problem really. I constantly move my playstation back and forth between Austria and Turkey, no sides care for it. Needles to mention, I also carry 2k$ worth of skis with me and noone taxed me for them once either.
