Is it smart to buy a Lumia 1020 before the WP 10?

is it smart to buy a lumia 1020 now ? before the WP 10

Right after I got my surface pro 2 they released the surface pro 3 wz same price. Will I be doing a mistake if I get the lumia 1020 now and I don't know whether it will be upgradable to WP 10 or not ? Or maybe they will release a successor with WP 10 that either would be better or will drop the price of the 1020. I am not an expert and I need help. Thanks a lot.

First of all every windows phone will be upgradeable to windows 10 since the kernel is the same. Getting a Lumia 1020 will depend on the phone you have currently and if you do love pictures. Anyway I'd go for a more newer chipset like the 830 or 930.
