I cannot view anything on my Lumia 520 phone. I can only receive calls. How do I fix it?

I can start the phone ok and see the wall paper background display. After that I can only view a blank black screen, I can not see the home menu or anything else. This has lasted for about 15 hours

What OS version and firmware are you running on your Lumia 520?

Is this device branded to a carrier and used on that carrier's network, or are you using the device on a different carrier's network? If you are using an unlocked device on a different network than that to which the device was branded, what carrier was the device originally for, and what carrier are you using it on now?

Clean the screen at the proximity sensor location (just to the right of the earpiece).

Any brightness adjustments made just before it started?
