will windows phone ever get an update to introduce live wallpapers and back grounds ????

so many live tiles on a plane background just aint enuff even with the 8.1 update

Get update 1 it allows you to custo.ize the background picture you see through the clear live tiles!

Or... Go to app store and download live lock themes... It's for the lock screen. Got loads on there.... It's brilliant. Uninstalled live lock screen tho as it kept my 1520 on "resume" for ages

Go to settings > start+theme and you will se an option for a start background. We probably will never get live wallpapers because it is not metro. Just imagine scrolling tiles with a moving image. That would make people sick

Backgrounds are silly and pointless on the Start Screen. If you reallllly need an ugly distracting image behind tiles/icons, making them impossible to read, go to Android.

Disagree... I got my facebook pics of my daughter on my start screen which puts a random pic of her when I unlock the phone. Think its great personally

On the Start Screen or Lock Screen?

The lock screen is a perfect place for images. Start Screen, is pretty silly.

From a design perspective, it's very counter effective. The images with slight colorations are fine. But anything with a wide variety of colors and contrast is going to make the UI much more complex and hard to read.
