Hi. My Lumia 1020 recently got a cracked screen and I have the insurance on att. I called to file a claim and was told they would send me a Samsung galaxy alpha. I told the lady that I had a windows phone and would need the same phone or at least another windows phone and was told that thats all they had. I didn't fell like arguing at the time cuz I didn't know what the alpha was. After I researched it it seems like it has the same specs the only thing less is the camera and being an android phone. Im a little upset and want to see what other folks think. Should I call back and ask for a better phone or just let it go. Thanks.

Re:

I wouldn't accept a phone I really didn't want or need.
Stand firm for an exact replacement or an upgrade.
I agree. I was just at the AT&T store in my neighbourhood last Friday, and they still had the 1020 in the store. If it's still in the store, I'd think there have to be stock available for insurance replacements.

In the 1520 forum, users are reporting getting AT&T 1520 as an insurance/warranty replacement for 1020.

Demand a Windows Phone if that is what you want.

All else fails, get one of equal or greater street value of a new 1020 or so. I think that is an idea, albeit one requiring some work and risk.
