Windows Central Question

I had a Windows 7 phone via ATT. I've now bought an HTC One M8 with Windows 8.1 and switched to Verizon. Everything's fine except music! It used to be simple and easy to find and download songs and albums. Now, three weeks on, I still can't figure out how! All this Xbox business is unuseable--and I'm not willing to pay yet another monthly fee for the privilege of buying music--and there no longer seems to be an option to buy music via the Windows phone store. WTF!?! All I want is to buy a song or two ...

I have to say I read this and thought 'what? that's easy', and then I went and tried it.

It appears you can only purchase albums - click on the price and it purchases. Can't see how to buy a track, but maybe someone else has worked that out. Clearly they don't want tracks purchased.

Ironically the search was useless for me too. I entered my song name, pressed enter and Nothing came up. Tried a few other songs. Nothing. Finally noticed this silly little line under the box saying something about searching the collection. Changed to the store and then songs showed. That should be easier... should always simply list local then store results.

So, sorry, you're right, I can't help you buy a song or two. Which should be easy!

(Mix Radio does it right, but that doesn't work on an HTC).

U can use the wptorrent app, datpiff app for hip hop mixtapes and there's plenty of other apps to download music. U can also download thru the web browser

Huh, you guys are confusing me. I've bought plenty of tracks, not albums, in Xbox music. How can it be difficult?! Just search for song, If the album pops up, click on the name and it will load the tracks of that album. Buy whichever one you want. Am I missing something here?

Download music➕ on the store.you can get any song u want free to download to your sd card.can also create playlists.i discovered it a couple weeks back.great app.was 99 cent to get rid of the adds

To load music from your computer you can drag and drop from file manager or use the app(forwindows 7) or Xbox music (windows 8). You might try buying individual songs on Xbox music for the desktop them synching it if you are having trouble doing so on the phone. You can buy music from any source on your desktop then just sync it to your phone.
