I'm a newbie to Windows Phones, and in need of a little clarification on a few points:
1. Do all Windows Phones generally receive all future OS updates, or are they somehow carrier/model-specific? Mine appears to have Cyan and i assume this is the latest update, but how do i know if i am going to receive whatever future updates Microsoft puts out? I have to ask because some Android devices are forever stuck with out-of-date versions of the OS. My phone isn't tied to any carrier, if it matters.
2. Why does my WLAN icon indicate traffic whenever i activate the sleep screen on my phone? This happens often, maybe 8 times out of 10. When i setup the phone for the first time, I recall reading somewhere that data was to be sent every time the "phone is activated", does this mean unlocking the screen? What data is sent, and how can i stop this?
