Why won't most headphones work in my Windows Phone 8?

It's a problem with the audio jack, definitely. I recently got a pair of beats, and now, whenever I plug them in, it's very distorted unless I'm holding the cable in tight. It did this with every other pair of headphones I can find, except one pair of skullcandies I had.
Can someone help me out?

Something is wrong with your phone. I've had an HTC Arrive (WP7), a Nokia 928, Nokia Icon, Nokia 1520.3 and all of them had no problems with headphones. I don't think there is anything you can do unless its under warranty.

Sounds like a bad jack. I have never had a headphone not work in my phone so I suspect yours is a faulty input jack.
