Why are my L520 apps crashing during multitasking?

L520- Apps crashing during multitasking

Hi there... I use a lumia 520. Is it only me or does every 520 owner face this problem.

when I open a link from Whatsapp,, it opens in IE. after the webpage is finished loading, I read.. then I go back....to see that my whatsapp is automatically closed.

similarly opening links from fb app closes all other background apps.

i know that its just a 512mb RAM phone, but i hav heard that WP OS uses little memory. Is there no legitimate multitasking feature in WP. Switching between 2 apps is so problematic and inconsistent and time consuming in WP OS

Does it happen even in a 1GB RAM device ?? Will my problems be solved if i take up a higher end phone or is WP OS that bad in memory management ?

I have FB, messenger, Whatsapp and xbm running in the background without any crashes.

You might want to try a hard reset, it might fix your problem. :smile:

Even mine runs in the background. What I mean is that when you open two apps the same time.. It crashes... And btw.. Did hard reset too..

yep happens on my 730 as well. Blame the multitasking . It's pretty inconsistent.

^^^ The issue is not about running several apps at the same time . The issue is about whatsapp closing after visiting a link(on IE) or a link directed from FB app. Read OP's description again.

For me, it happens when I use twitter and I open a IE link, then return to the home screen.... But only to find Twitter app has completely disappeared(in multitasking window or pressing back button doesnt yield any result). so it's inconsistent. Anyway, WP doesnt allow or support true multitasking.

I tried opening a link from both Whatsapp and the FB app and they still appear in the app switcher even after I return to the start screen. (from IE)

I do not have this problem at all on my Lumia 820. Everything stays open no matter what.

That's what I needed to know. So 1 gb ram devices are fine??

Wp does not have true multitasking like android 2 GB ram phones .
