Promoting Xbox child account without an Xbox?

As the title mentioned, how can I promote my Xbox Live child account to an adult account, without an Xbox, as I don't own any? Will my account automatically gets promoted when I reach my 18th birthday? Do I need to contact MS support for this?

When I had a child account I just contacted Microsoft directly and they made the switch for me.

Thanks. That helped. Just one more question: Which category did you choose? Also, did they have to verify your birthday or just simply promoted your account?

I don't remember since it was a few years back. I believe they don't check the DoB since they only look at the child account DoB and be like ok switched to a normal account.
