Can anyone fill me in with some info about the Microsoft Band?

New to the Microsoft Band

I will receive my new band next Thurs, Are there any quirks or any thing I should know about setting up the band the first time? This will be all new to me is there any thing I should look out for? Also I have used a fitbit flex for over a year will I be able to import my fitbit history? If so how do I do that?
